Geoff Wilson, a man from the Gold Coast with an adventurous spirit, set out on a grueling expedition across the Antarctic to support his friend who went through a breast cancer journey and raise funds for the McGrath Foundation. Geoff faced one of the harshest environments on the planet with just his skis and kite power to traverse the ice, while hauling a 'boob sled' of supplies for the journey . The pink sled is distinctive, as it has a cover moulded in the shape of Geoff's wife's bust -- no less than a giant pair of bright pink, 'breasts' with the Antarctic ice as a stunning backdrop!
Today, we are delighted to announce that Dr Geoff Wilson yesterday broke the Australian record for the longest solo polar crossing. He passed the previous record of 1100 kilometres and is now over halfway to the pole. You can keep up with @pinkpolar and his incredible journey here http://www.5thelementexpeditions.com/... and you can help support the adventure by donating here: http://mcgrathfoundation.gofundraise....
At its heart, The PINK POLAR Expedition supports the McGrath Foundation's objectives to increase breast awareness in young Australians and to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia.
100% of all donations will be donated to the McGrath Foundation and you will automatically receive a tax-deductible receipt via email.
